New Publication: Defending Plurality. Four Reasons Why We Need to Rethink Academic Freedom in Europe
In a short co-publication on Verfassungsblog and the European Feminist Platform, I analyze and critique the current debates about academic freedom. The thesis: “political correctness” and “cancel culture” mostly do not threaten academic freedom but are defenses of plurality. The false criticism of these phenomena distracts from the real - and increasing - attacks on academic freedom by states.
